Happy New Year

January 1, 2007 -- I hope you and yours had a great holiday. I had a wonderful time with my sons, Kalen and Evan, who were both here over the New Year holiday. We hung out together -- Sophie, her girls, my boys and me -- went skiing, tried to go to the hot springs (twice) but we were flummoxed by the crowds. There hasn't been much snow in Europe so far this season, so any other activities have been really crowded. We did manage to go skiing in Courmeyeur, Italy and Chatel, France, and had a great time.

I just returned from Venice and Bassano, Italy, where I spent a long weekend discovering those cities for a story on Montegrappa, which is based in Bassano. The story is for PenWorld, the sister publication of InSync.

I will be going back to Venice at the end of this month for an event for Piaget, and in between I have trips scheduled to Ulysse Nardin and Chopard. Should make for a busy month.

The New Year, so far, has been great and should get even greater.

I wish you and your families the best for the New Year and I know there will be a lot of exciting watch stories coming up -- and I'll be there to cover them for InSync.
